ReplyDeleteWhen I first read this poem I couldn't get at the meaning of it. That's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteEither it indicates that the beloved is a world of completion, at the breast of the lover; or it indicates that the lover and beloved are both a world still spinning, in blissful oblivion. We are such beings. We know this dance. We can not ignore, or forget, it.
Also, let me say, having been to a lot of blogs, you write with a simplicity that is rare and under-rated. You should really spend more time on this blog. The games you play here are FUN (and all poetry is a game).
You say, in a wonderful line: "it takes two to / whisper". How fortunate that we all have crowded minds.
Can you write me some more poems? I would be grateful.
